How Important Is Oxygen?

If you have low oxygen levels you are dying.

Denial is not effective treatment for low oxygen levels.  Even if you “feel okay”.

Oxygen hitches a ride on your red blood cells in order to travel around your body.  If your oxygen level is too low (below 92%) the oxygen molecules can’t make the leap.  The pressure is too low.

When your oxygen level is below 92%, the oxygen that is in your blood cruises around in your circulation but the pressure isn’t high enough for it to actually get where it is needed.

You Want To Improve Low Oxygen Levels Because You Are DYING Til You DO!!

You just can’t take this too seriously.  When you discover someone you love is experiencing this situation you feel panicked to do something about it!  Low oxygen level symptoms are alarming, but they may show up in ways that seem like “normal aging”.

Just be aware that you will likely meet resistant from the care recipient when you attempt to supplement oxygen. 

Nobody likes to use supplemental oxygen.  It feels like a leash.  When the tubing rubs and irritates skin, and the increased restriction starts to discourage, it can be difficult to remember that supplemental oxygen is a healing tool!

If Religion Isn’t About Tolerance, What the Hell Is It About?

If religion isn't about tolerance what the hell is it about?

If you are intolerant then you live with constant stress.

It is much more peaceful to accept life as it is.

You do what you can and you let go, and “allow” what you can’t change.

You are the only person you are in control of, and certainly the only one YOU can change.

When you find in your life that you are spending time focusing on what is wrong with someone else, it is useful to turn your witness on yourself.

What you hate most in others is often what you most dislike about yourself.

 

Tolerance means loving others as you love yourself. 

Any sermon preaching any thing else is a product of human error.

Whatever you call God, and even if you refuse to call God, we are all brothers and sisters.

Without tolerance there is no peace.

Without peace you will be sick.

Peace is right up there with laughter for the best medicine.

Too bad you can’t sell it.

For a happier healthier life:

  • free your mind from worries
  • live simply
  • give more
  • expect happiness

Have You Heard that Vitamin Pills Won’t Help Heart Disease, but Cholesterol Drugs Are Magic?

Don’t believe the hype. There is no magic pill for health. 

Eating fruits and vegetables and getting plenty of exercises are great for your health, but the quality of the relationships in your life are even more important.

Toxic relationships are filled with toxic stress.   Toxic stress makes you sick.

Loving nurturing relationships will keep you healthy even if you don’t have the best lifestyle habits.

 

Real hope for heart disease isn’t in pill form!

If you only listen to sources that want your dollars, you will pay dearly.

You have the power to build your health and vitality! No matter what your current state of health, you can feel better if you nurture yourself.

The researchers who first impressed the world with cholesterol-lowering drug studies were careful to point out that the wonderful benefits of their study could be achieved by lowering cholesterol with diet and lifestyle changes.

There is no money to be made in advising people to eat better.  Drugs are far more profitable.

However, cholesterol-lowering drugs bring along undesirable side effects that could be far worse than the benefits they allegedly offer.

 

If you take Statin drugs, are you also paying attention to your diet?

The drug companies say that you should be using the drugs in combination with diet and lifestyle changes.

Did your doctor spend time talking with you about HOW to change your diet before he gave you a prescription that could CAUSE heart failure?

The studies credit reduction of CRP, which is a measure of inflammation, as the reason that many more people should be using Statin drugs.

Reducing inflammation within your body is definitely health building.  How can you do that without risking undesirable side effects?

 

Increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables in your diet will reduce inflammation, thereby reducing your risk of heart attack and stroke.

Want to lower your cholesterol without endangering your health?

Commit to diet and lifestyle changes before risking drugs to lower cholesterol.

  • Eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday.
  • Eat plenty of fiber
  • Sip water all day long.
  • Get 30 minutes of sunlight everyday.  (Have your vitamin D level checked, and supplement if necessary.)
  • Be active!  Americans are dying early from EVERY cause of death due to Sedentary Death Syndrome.

However, if you resort to drugging your cholesterol level, studies show that you maybe better off to sit on your couch and stop exerting yourself!

Cholesterol lowering drugs cause exercise intolerance!

Trusting a drug that prevents you from exercising effectively to PROTECT you from heart disease is an extremely weak plan!

Being active is the best thing you can do for yourself UNLESS you are on Statin Drugs.

Even if you sit on the couch and move very little to avoid the damage of exercise while being drugged with Statins, you will still deplete your CoQ10.

Depleting yourself of this important enzyme is harmful and may lead to heart failure.

The Center for Disease Control says that about one-third of all people with diabetes do not know they have it.

Is diabetes something you are concerned about?

When you have diabetes in your family history you are more likely to give it your attention, and to be more conscious of your food choices.  Though you probably eat more sugar than you think you do, whether you try to limit it or not.

If you don’t have signs of diabetes, you don’t have anything to worry about … or do you?

The real problem with diabetes is NOT glucose it is Insulin Toxicity!

Insulin toxicity is a contributing factor to many disease processes, but it is not even tested for if your glucose is not high.

You could have insulin toxicity for years before you have glucose issues!

If your doctor doesn’t even recognize your approaching signs of diabetes how can you?
Diabetes Symptoms That Should Concern You:

Type  One Diabetes:

  • Frequent urination
  • Unusual thirst
  • Extreme hunger
  • Unusual weight loss
  • Extreme fatigue and Irritability

Type Two Diabetes:

  • Any of the type 1 symptoms
  • Frequent infections
  • Blurred vision
  • Cuts/bruises that are slow to heal

What Foods Help Get Rid of Fluid Retention?

Today one of my clients asked me what they could eat to get rid of fluid retention.

It isn’t an easy question to answer because there are many causes of fluid retention that will not be healed by eating foods that make you pee.

Some foods can make you retain fluid by slowing down your kidneys, while others can help your kidneys work better.

Anemia, protein deficiency, and an abnormally high need for one or more vitamins or minerals can cause fluid retention as well.

Keep in mind that fluid retention is NOT  simple to treat.

Maybe you aren’t even aware that those difficult to lose pounds are actually fluid rather than fat!

You don’t lose fluid weight the same way you lose weight from fat!

You can burn fat, but you don’t “burn” water you release it!

This subject can be a bit overwhelming, so don’t let yourself get complacent!

Fluid retention drains your health!

 

Cover the simple stuff first:

  •  sip water all day even when you feel bloated (unless your doctor advises you not to because of kidney failure)
  •  have your hormones checked
  • treat all low oxygen levels with supplemental oxygen

The most common cause of fluid retention is dehydration!  So sip all day and if you are on fluid restriction, it’s a good idea to stick to water with fresh lemon.

Hormones are another issue that could be causing your fluid retention and your doctor can evaluate if this is a problem for you.

Low oxygen levels are potentially fatal, so you want to look for them when you are active and distressed as well as when you are sleeping!

 

Discovering what foods help get rid of fluid retention is only slightly helpful early on in your disease process.

Is this the information you were looking for?

Foods that cause you to release fluid:

  •  celery
  •  onion
  •  parsley
  •  garlic
  •  peppermint
  •  eggplant
  •  cabbage
  •  cranberries
  •  asparagus
  •  corn
  •  cucumber
  •  grapes
  •  watermelon

Some sources say to reduce intake of parsley and celery to avoid water retention.  They are both high in chlorophyll so it’s no wonder they are hugely helpful in addressing the issues that may contribute to fluid retention.  A list of foods high in magnesium will help as well.  Magnesium is the “relax mineral” so it helps fluid retention in several ways.

Herbs that help you to release fluid:

  •  uva ursi
  •  buchu
  •  horse chestnut (also used to promote leg vein circulation in Europe for many years)
  •  dandelion root or tincture (good for kidneys, adrenal glands, and liver)
  •  Dong Quai (also soothing to intestines and bladder)

Be careful with herbs, like drugs, they are potentially harmful!

 

Fluid Retention can be very uncomfortable.

The discomfort of fluid retention can be eased with the use of essential oils.

Essential oils, used in baths, gargles, mouthwashes, vaporizers, inhalants, as well as compresses and massages can be helpful:

  •  cypress
  •  geranium
  •  juniper
  •  lavender
  •  rosemary

 

Fluid BALANCE is the goal, and many foods can be helpful in righting your fluid balance.

Helpful foods, vitamins, and minerals:

  •  brazil nuts
  •  fish
  •  Vitamin B6
  •  Vitamin A
  •  Vitamin C
  •  magnesium (would a list of food sources help?)
  •  selenium

 

Give your attention to a few other concerns that effect fluid retention!

Avoid constipation, eat foods high in dietary fiber:

  •  grains
  •  beans
  •  fruits

 

AVOID the following:

  •  table salt (for severe fluid retention use only potassium chloride)
  •  sugary foods and drinks
  •  too much protein OR not enough protein
  •  unhealthy fats
  •  being still for long periods of time
  •  crossing your legs
  •  tight clothing
  •  alcohol
  •  smoke
  •  coffee
  •  black tea
  •  processed foods
  •  fast foods
  •  white flour foods

There is no quick fix for fluid retention but it is likely to cause oxygen and nutrition problems because it interferes with absorption.

Better safe than sorry!
