Don’t you feel great when you plan ahead and prepare healthy foods for on the go?

The good food choices keep you feeling your best.  Being prepared and having all your bases covered feels great as well.

Have a few hectic days in a row, and it really exhausts your reserves.  Grab unhealthy fast food and keep a frantic pace for even one day and you are running on empty, have several in a row and it creates a deficit that can be hard to recover from.

Once you establish a new healthy diet plan it will create continued success only so long as you stick with it.

Sue lost 120 pounds over about 2 years.

She was so proud of her accomplishment!

Sue knew that she would never go back to the way she used to live.  Her new life was worth all the difficult changes she’d made.  She would gladly trade all those comfort foods that used to be so much a part of her day, for the friends and activities that now crowded her busy schedule.

Life as Sue had become accustomed to it ended abruptly one night when she answered the phone and found out that her father had experienced a major health crisis and her family was gathering at his bedside.

The next morning she bought tickets and made arrangements for the trip back to her parents home in Montana.

Her sister picked her up at the airport and 2 weeks of emotional highs and lows followed.  Sue was glad to have the support of her family, but she still found herself needing those familiar comfort foods she had given up to reach her goal weight.  She was worried about the pounds she was packing back on, but figured she would have to deal with it once she could return to some sort of normalcy.

At the funeral, Sue just could not stop eating.  All the foods of her childhood where spread out on a table, and the raw heart ache from losing her father had her reeling.

On the flight back home the following morning, Sue felt puffy and bloated as well as heavy with grief.  She looked forward to getting back to a routine.

Coming home was certainly comforting.  But Sue was surprised to find that she had cravings that drove her crazy.  It wasn’t as easy to step back into the regiment that she had created for the 2 years of successful weight loss.

Her heart was aching, and it seemed to cause an appetite for all the wrong foods and it was next to impossible to ignore the relentless cravings!

Are you living your purpose?

It is tough to drag yourself out of bed in the morning if you don’t feel driven by your purpose.

Whether you have found your purpose, or you are still looking for it, you need to focus on the desires of your heart.

The desires of your heart will always call you to your purpose.

A nagging urge that you aren’t doing what you should be doing can get really uncomfortable.

Do you see signs that your purpose is calling?

  • Feeling restless?
  • Do you sometimes get irritable without knowing why?
  • Does silence make you nervous?
  • Do you dislike down time?
  • What wakes you up in the middle of the night?

If your purpose is calling you, the best thing to do is get still and listen.

Your intuition will tell you where to focus your attention.
Your intuition will chart your course if you let it, and the secret to hearing your intuition is to relax and focus your attention on your heart.

  • soy beans (organic and non GMO unless you are fearful of soy)

  • beans
  • barley
  • dandelion greens
  • garlic

While you’re out check into magnesium supplements as well.

Just keep in mind that you want to take magnesium with calcium.  (2:1 calcium to magnesium)

That list of high fiber foods is the all star lineup for your healthy diet plan!

High fiber foods can help you to lose weight, prevent constipation, diabetes, and heart disease, help reduce your risk of high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease, obesity, hemorrhoids, some cancers, high blood sugar, and it keeps your digestive system working properly.

Awesome foods, wouldn’t you say?

All plant foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, seeds and beans, have fiber. But all fiber is not the same. Fiber can be divided into two categories and they have different effects on your body.

Soluble fiber is found in dried beans, peas, oats and oat bran, flaxseed and psyllium husks. It’s also found in fruits such as oranges and apples and vegetables like carrots.

Soluble fiber binds with fatty acids in your stomach and prolongs digestion time, helping to regulate blood sugar.

Studies also show that soluble fiber can help reduce your overall cholesterol count. But what’s even more important, soluble fiber lowers your LDL, which is considered to be bad cholesterol.

Insoluble fiber is found in whole wheat, wheat bran, vegetables such as cauliflower and green beans and the skins of fruits and root vegetables.

Insoluble fiber helps remove toxins from your colon and balance intestinal acidity. It also helps move waste through your bowel.

The recommended total daily fiber intake for adults is 30 to 40 grams. But most Americans get only about 10 grams of fiber a day.

Have You Asked Yourself: How Much Am I Supposed To Weigh?

How much am I supposed to weigh?

Eighty percent of 10 year old girls in the USA go on a diet.

Why?

When you look in the mirror do you like what you see?

Unfortunately, if you are like most people, that is an uncomfortable question to answer.

I mean, even if you like what you see, does it make you feel arrogant to say … “yes, I like what I see in the mirror”?

Or perhaps if you are unhappy about being over weight, when you look at someone else who “looks good”, you feel unpleasant feelings of envy arise within you.

Jill was very unhappy when I met her.  She was the new licensed practical nurse hired to cared for Mr. Mendes, a heart failure patient that I had been taking care of for many years.

One afternoon while Mr. Mendes was sleeping I stopped by to check up on the two of them.  Since Jill had some time on her hands we decided to enjoy a cup of tea together.

Will the Oprah Effect Cause You to Choose a Kind Diet?

Oprah is talking about the source of our food!

This subject has been close to my heart for 20 years.  However, I am not quick to talk about it since I have not had much positive feedback around the subject over the years.

Twenty years ago I was a weirdo!

Now it seems that the Oprah Effect will make this subject fashionable.  Three cheers for Oprah!

I experienced some BIG changes from “The Kind Diet”:

  •  my panic attacks disappeared
  • within a week severe bowel troubles that had plagued me all my life vanished

In spite of the recommendation to choose processed foods, “The Kind Diet” is a good read that will help you make better choices concerning the foods you put on your plate.

Kind is good, and WHOLE and organic is better!

Will the Oprah Effect improve your health?  I hope so!

What you choose to eat has a big effect on the planet and on your body!

My dramatic improvements drove me to research food even more than I already had.

You’ll hear diet advice everywhere so let me share with you the basics that will really change your health for the better.

#1  Processed foods are really not good for you.

This includes bread.  What could be more processed than bread?

#2  Genetically modified foods are harmful.

GMO foods are lacking bio-energy that you need from your foods, and they also introduce allergens and transfer antibiotic resistance markers.

#3  High fructose corn syrup does not belong in your kitchen OR your body!

 

Just these basic guide lines will serve you well as you alter your diet.

Make a few small changes and see if you don’t feel an immediate difference.
