Could Doctor Who Online Enrich Your Life?

Could Doctor Who Online Enrich Your Life?

You might think that my love for all things British has something to do with why I love “Doctor Who” so much, but this glorious master-piece of art is filled with so much “epicness” that no loyalty to Britain is required!

For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, Doctor Who is Continue reading Could Doctor Who Online Enrich Your Life?

What Bucket List Ideas Could Inspire More Joy In Your Life?

fun in the sun

Graduating from high school is bound to bring up many happy memories and cause you to look forward with inspired goal setting.

My daughter, Briana, and I were discussing her first post here on Heart Failure Solutions.

I told her I wanted you all to get to know her a little bit so you will know what to expect from her future posting.  She is VERY passionate about many subjects and a few of them are bound to catch your attention from the get go.

Somehow we got on the subject of “Bucket Lists”, and it was interesting to reflect on how different bucket list ideas can be depending on many factors, but most especially AGE.

I’ll let Briana share her thoughts with you here, and perhaps I’ll whip up a post of my own on the subject.  That girl always inspires deep philosophical conversation that lingers long after we’ve finished our chat.

“Hi, I’m Briana.”

I’m young … I know.

Though, I am frequently the one to discipline my 7 year old brother, I take on a lot of the responsibility for helping my mom raise my siblings, and I often feel concerned about the future … so, I don’t usually FEEL very young.

When I compare my accomplishments with those of a senior, I realize that I sure don’t want to waste any of the many years ahead.  With that motivation in mind I created a Bucket List.

Some of the things on my list are very simple.  Some of them are just plain silly.  Some of them mean a great deal to me.

You can learn a lot about someone by looking at their bucket list.

I read a bucket list that included Continue reading What Bucket List Ideas Could Inspire More Joy In Your Life?

Are Keynote Motivational Speakers Made or Born?

Graduation Success

I am the proud parent of a 2012 graduate!

As I sat in the audience listening to my daughter give her acceptance speech, I wondered if she had been born a keynote motivational speaker or if it was her many years of theater and attending a school that required lots of presentation.

Can you teach someone to be inspiring or is that a skill they are born with?

I asked Briana that question, she said, “Both.”

The kid has grown up in a theater, so a stage is definitely someplace she feels comfortable.

But sitting there watching her hold the attention of every person in that audience, getting a good laugh from the crowd, I wondered how she came to possess that skill.

Keynote Motivational Speakers may not seem like deal changers.

But a powerful speaker who can Continue reading Are Keynote Motivational Speakers Made or Born?

Can Motivational Speaker Training Help You Strengthen Your Voice?

Whether you’re a motivational speaker who’s audience is falling asleep, an employer who is ignored by employees, or a grand parent with grand children testing the boundaries, there comes a time when you look for a little extra power in your voice. As you age you may find you don’t have it when you need it.

Where does the power in your voice come from?

Can Motivational Speaker Training help you speak more powerfully?

Can Motivational Speaker Training Strengthen Your Voice?

As The Life Breath Coach I encourage my students to nurture their relationship with their voice.

It’s not a coincidence that your voice loses its power when you get significantly ill and can gradually lose power as you age.

It’s obvious that the source of your voice is your breath, but it’s not as easy to see the source of the power behind your breath. Is your strength the power behind your breath, or is your breath the power behind your strength?

The mystery isn’t as obvious as “Which came first the chicken or the egg?”

Certainly breathe came first and if you don’t breathe you die!

But can you strengthen your breathing like you strengthen your muscles? Continue reading Can Motivational Speaker Training Help You Strengthen Your Voice?

The rain has been pounding on the ridge I live on.

I’m talking, a small river has formed!

It really isn’t surprising that a tree fell.  In fact, the one I thought would fall next … fell.

I just wasn’t counting on losing my internet connection Mother’s Day Weekend!

The day before Mother’s Day was the very first lesson of “The Increase Your Oxygen Challenge”!  (Now The Life Breath Club!)

Taking it all in stride helped.  “Whatcha gonna do?”

Thanks to my girlfriend, JoAnn, I was able to relocate and set up in time to get a few hours sleep, and then be live with the Life Breath Club Members at 7am my time!

By the time I got home, I was ready for a long nap.  I had more things than I could count to do.  But everything stopped and I crawled in my bed.

I respect my bodies need for sleep.  It doesn’t mean I don’t take massive action!  In fact getting inspired has caused a sleep debt for me personally, many times.  I’ve just learned to recognize the need to schedule sleep, as well as clear the schedule when an unexpected need for sleep arises.

Prioritizing your sleep can mean Continue reading Does It Take Mother Nature To Get Your Family To Reconnect?

How Do You Support Mourners Through the Stages of Grief?

Stages of Grief

Grief just is.  There is no right and wrong to it.  It just is.

Though there are many flavors of grief.

You are touched by it when a member of your community is struck down unexpectedly.

When you experience personal loss grief can swallow you whole.

Grief can surprise you.  Sometimes your emotions are unavailable to you for a while.  You need time to heal a bit before you can open them up.

Other times your emotions spill out and you are shocked by their intensity.

Grief feels like suffering, it’s hard to see it as healthy in anyway.

You just want it to stop.

Would you choose to stop the grief if it meant that you couldn’t remember your loved one?

Even in the early stages of grief when it’s rough to even breathe, erasing your precious memories would be far too high a price to pay.

When your pain is so raw you think it will kill you, hold on to the fact that time will eventually heal you so that you can remember and smile.

Time is definitely a friend to the grieving.

When you can think of your lost loved one and laugh and enjoy the memory, you know that Time is doing its job.

The grieving process is a very individual thing, but understanding that there really are common aspects to it can help you feel less crazy or to worry less about others who grieve differently than you do.

Do you see yourself somewhere in the process? Continue reading How Do You Support Mourners Through the Stages of Grief?
