  1. Hi Carrie,

Thank you for sharing this post. I have been losing a few hours of sleep because of blogging. However, there have been days that I am so exhausted and just crawl into bed. When I am depleted, I just can’t think and there’s no point starring at a blank screen. I love how you mentioned schedule sleep. I am setting boundaries to shut down the computer before midnight!

As for breathing, when I go to my Pilates and Yoga session, I am often reminded how I need to be aware of my breathing. It’s a very grounding exercise that I need to do outside of my workouts 🙂

P.S. I have had internet issues lately – it’s probably telling me something. I would get all worked up but now I just turn off the computer LOL.

    • Aloha Diana,
I do the same thing. When I have internet issues, I feel like the universe is telling me to unplug and rest.

Sleep is a healing panacea all by itself for sure. Be good to you!

Breathing support helps a lot. Enter your contact info in the right sidebar to receive your invitation to The Life Breath Club’s weekly meeting. The simple things make all the difference, and the support of a group keeps you from forgetting to be consistent.

Health is worth the time it takes to nurture yourself, yes?
      Many blessings,
      Carrie

  2. Carrie, isn’t it funny how you can just go through life and all of a sudden something makes you stop and you realize how wonderful things really are. You’re sharing of reading with your daughter was really touching. It would make sense for us to to take from this that once in a while we should turn it all off and enjoy each other and re-connect. It sure would be easier than waiting for Mother Nature to remind us 🙂

You have a lot of messages in this one post! Respecting your body and your own needs is important. I have the idea of our energy and related emotional state being like a bucket. We can give and give out of our bucket, but if we don’t take time once in a while to wander down to the stream and fill it back up we surely will run dry.

Hopefully things get back to normal for you soon and the rain gives you a break! Take care.

    Bonnie

  3. Wonderful reminder Carrie for us to take the time for ourselves and refresh our minds. Sleep is just as important as eating healthy and exercising every day. It rejuvenates and keep us motivated each and every day.

    • Aloha Samantha!

Weekends off sound great! Single parenting is such a heavy load, I’m doing good to steal away a couple hours at a time. But hey, whatever it takes, huh?

      Be well!
      Carrie

  4. Like Roy I expected something different from the title.
Breathing is so important and hard to believe that people do it badly and land up hyperventilating and panicking.
Your exercise is a true personal connection. It can also be a scary thought

  5. I had a completely different concept when I read your title. Great post. I think the title would actually work for my family (not my kids; the rest), as well. It would take a natural disaster (like the Mississippi visit, the Alabama tornado- both where I had relatives) to make us all come together.
    Thanks for the reminder.
