  1. Carrie, this is such an important and powerful post! I made sure to tweet it because I know that it’ll provide value to my followers!

I especially identify with your tips and evidence regarding breathing. Taking the time to breathe more deeply has made all the difference in my own life. It’s even in those moments that I’m conscious about whether I’m taking care of myself or not.

Thank you so much for the reminder, Carrie! So glad we’re connected through the TLC. =)

  2. Hi Carrie,

Thanks for sharing the need to have so “Me Time”. We have a tendency to give to others but not to ourselves until we reach a point where I body calls a time-out. That has happened to me several times.

I had lived on the Big Island for a few years and spent even more time in Oahu. I think Hawaii in general provides a sense of healing to the soul! I love what you said about being active in a way that adds joy to your life. Enjoy every moment and cherish them 🙂

  3. You have really covered a lot of ground in this article, Carrie. I like the part about your mental attitude towards illness and pain. I just finished reading Dr. Sarno’s book on Healing Back Pain and he says most pain is the brain trying to distract us from repressed emotions. The interesting part is that it’s oxygen deprivation that causes the pain. So I can see how breathing is also very important in treatments.

    Thanks for sharing this.

    • Aloha Jeanette,
Thanks for sharing the resource, sounds like a great book.

You bet, you can most definitely breathe away your pain, and it has everything to do with emotional processing!

      Breathing is magic!

      Many blessings,
      Carrie

  4. Carrie, this is such a powerful and insightful article. Caregivers need to be aware of the dangers of ignoring their own health. I know…I was guilty of it myself and the price was high. It took me years to get my energy back and only through the coaching paradigm I now use with clients did I understand there are many ways beyond physical self-care to find secret stashes of energy so we can thrive.

Keep sharing through your writing…this is life changing stuff!
