Can a List of Foods High in Magnesium Help You Live Your Purpose?

Are you living your purpose?

It is tough to drag yourself out of bed in the morning if you don’t feel driven by your purpose.

Whether you have found your purpose, or you are still looking for it, you need to focus on the desires of your heart.

The desires of your heart will always call you to your purpose.

A nagging urge that you aren’t doing what you should be doing can get really uncomfortable.

Do you see signs that your purpose is calling?

  • Feeling restless?
  • Do you sometimes get irritable without knowing why?
  • Does silence make you nervous?
  • Do you dislike down time?
  • What wakes you up in the middle of the night?

If your purpose is calling you, the best thing to do is get still and listen.

Your intuition will tell you where to focus your attention.
Your intuition will chart your course if you let it, and the secret to hearing your intuition is to relax and focus your attention on your heart.

That is where magnesium can be your best ally!

Magnesium is an amazing nutrient!

Anything that is tight, irritable, cramped, and/or stiff — whether it is a body part or even a mood — is a sign of magnesium deficiency.

If you are tight, irritable, cramped, or stiff you are going to have a hard time relaxing and tapping into your inner messenger.

Foods high in magnesium can quickly help you relax!

Think of magnesium as the “Relax Mineral” that empowers you!

Plan for success.

Laurie spent time with her Sacred Breathing every single morning.

She’d heard enough awesome testimonials about how Life Breath Club members had changed their lives that she knew it was worth her attention.

Ten years of pain and increasingly frequent colds, flu and bladder infections had made Laurie feel hopeless.  She wanted her active lifestyle back.

Her auto immune issues had taken the fun out of life.

The problem was that Laurie became overwhelmed with fear and anxiety every time she had a few moments of silence.  Just sitting at a traffic light was torturous, because she couldn’t turn off the negative train of thought that kept cruising through her mind.

She didn’t enjoy her own company.

Sacred Breathing felt impossible for Laurie outside the ten minutes she devoted to practicing in the morning.

Laurie took my advice and added foods high in magnesium to her diet.  She saw a big difference right away and started to use magnesium supplements as well.

For the first time in her life she felt like she could really relax!

Within a week Laurie was reporting that Sacred Breathing was no longer torturous.  She enjoyed it so much that it became easy to give it her focus again and again through out the day!

Choose foods high in magnesium with the intention of nurturing stillness and relaxation!

Laurie found that relaxing into the flow of life made realizing her dreams easy!  Her goals have gotten MUCH bigger recently and even those HUGE exciting goals don’t cause her anxiety.

She knows that Sacred Breathing will see her through and magnesium is her secret weapon!

What Do Stiff Necks and Asthma Have To Do With Heart Failure?

Springtime stiff neck
Image by Paco CT via Flickr

Are asthma and stiff necks related?

What the heck do either of them have to do with heart failure?

Asthma is considered to be a disease that inflames and narrows the airways.  When your airways are inflamed and narrow, you usually wheeze.

However, it is good to know that some people don’t really “wheeze”, they just stop moving air through their lungs.

When your health care provider listens to your lungs they may assume that your lungs are “clear” (or “good to go”), when in fact they are hearing an absence of air flow.

NO AIR FLOW IS MUCH WORSE THAN NOISY AIR FLOW!

Your lungs must move air or you are sunk!

Are you aware that your stiff neck is caused by the same type of inflammatory process that causes wheezing? Continue reading article →

Are Water Pills Harmful?

Drinking_water

Update May 31, 2012

Recently I pulled this post out of my archive and added a few details to it.

I’ve been noticing an increasingly casual attitude about ‘water pills’ and I’m finding the trend a bit disturbing!  Several articles I’ve read recently said that ‘water pills’ were “safe when taken as directed”.

That statement is hard for me to swallow, so I have a better question …

Are water pills harmful?

The answer to that question is a profound yes!

Water pills are very harmful!  In fact your doctor really doesn’t even want to put you on them until he/she sees your fluid retention as a bigger danger than the side effects of those “water pills”.

Recently, I was approached by a woman who wanted my advice about a procedure she was considering to treat her irregular heart beat.  I’ll call her Jane.

I encouraged Jane to address three issues and see if her symptoms would subside.  After all, if simple will solve the problem, you are good to go.

What 3 problems needed Jane’s attention? Continue reading article →

What Do You Plan To Do About the Heart Failure Epidemic?

The illustration shows the major signs and sym...

Heart failure is increasing at an alarming rate in the US and around the world.

You should be MUCH more concerned about heart disease than any other health issue, because you are more likely to die of heart disease than any other health concern you may have!

Having said that, I want to STRESS the following FACTS:

  • diabetes and sugar intake significantly increase your chance of succumbing to heart disease and heart failure!
  • high blood pressure is a paved road to heart failure!
  • highly processed foods lead to heart failure through weight gain, mal-nutrition, and water retention.
  • inactivity will drain the strength of your muscles, including your HEART MUSCLE.  (So will Statins!)
  • your inability to process your emotions in a healthy way contributes to heart failure as much as every point listed above.
  • sometimes the first sign of heart disease is a HEART ATTACK!
  • most women who have a heart attack succumb to heart failure within one year.
  • heart failure is very difficult to diagnose, so you may not even hear the term until you are fighting for your life in intensive care.
  • the CDC says that 20% of patients die within one year of a heart failure diagnosis, and 50% die within five years.
  • young people are also succumbing to heart disease, including heart failure.

Are you going to wait for your doctor to sound the alarm about heart disease and heart failure? Continue reading article →

Do You Have A Healthy Diet Plan?

healthy diet plan

Is what you eat healthy?

Are you a junk food junkie, or do you try to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet?

How do you know that what you are eating is actually healthy for you?

Go into your kitchen and look in your refrigerator and pantry.

Do you know what types of things should NOT be there?

Contrary to the lovely television commercials reassuring you that corn syrup is safe….. that is the first thing I recommend that you search for and eliminate from your kitchen.

When you begin searching, you will see that high fructose corn syrup is in everything!

Your body does not even recognize this stuff as a food source and does NOT secrete insulin to digest it when you eat it!

HFCS must be detoxed through your liver because your body is not digesting it.

If you eat enough high fructose corn syrup, you will crave it, BUT it isn’t really food!

Get it out of your kitchen.

Every time you resist health robbing foods, and choose fruits and vegetables instead, you improve your health instead of adding to your distress.

If you eat a diet of highly processed and chemicalized foods, odds are your palate is coated with yeasty build up so that you aren’t enjoying how wonderful Mother Nature’s goodies taste!

Increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables and your palate will be washed clean so that you can actually taste the wonderful subtle flavors of natural foods.

Replacing undesirable foods with wholesome foods will play a big role in your healthy diet plan.

What food to you need to stock in your kitchen in order to support a healthy diet plan?

If you remove from your kitchen all of the junk foods that tempt you, and only eat them when you are not at your home…. you will eat far less of these unhealthy foods.

It will be so much easier to choose healthy snacks when they aren’t hidden behind the potato chips and candy.

The good news here is that there are many choices to choose from when stocking healthy foods in your kitchen.

A healthy diet plan is only possible if you plan ahead.

Healthy Foods That Should Be On Your Grocery List Continue reading article →

Is Awareness Enough To Fight Heart Disease?

heart disease

“Being aware” is not an action step.

It may inspire you to take action, and it may not.

Making someone aware is lip service.  Asking good questions is a step in the right direction.  Discussion can give life to inspiration.

Inspired action requires that you get past denial.

Denial is very popular.  It feels good.  That is, until your problem gets right in your face.

Even though at this point, you are suffering the consequences of your denial, you may still cling to it.

Until you take back your power, you will not feel better, and you can’t heal from heart disease or any other disease.

Can you take inspired action, and still be in denial?

That is a good question.  Usually denial is what keeps you on the side line, or keeps you so attached to your disease process that you never seek help to heal.  If you can’t imagine yourself feeling good and living well, then you won’t be able to achieve it.

Recently I came across a story that tore my heart out.  The story is about a young woman who was definitely taking inspired action.
She was a role model for inspired action, and her family loved and cherished her.

She had struggled with a weight issue all her life.  Her family and friends, and even her “shrink”, considered her a hypochondriac and often joked with her about it.  (After all, she wasn’t too proud to admit that she was.)  Her many complaints fell on deaf ears, and she brushed any concern aside out of habit.

Until……her final complaint.

“I am so dizzy,” she told her mother over the phone.

Then the line went dead and a 19 years young woman, in the prime of her life, was gone.

Over the years she had learned to ignore her discomfort:

  • heavy sweating
  • not being able to catch her breath
  • being overtired
  • working hard to lose weight with little results
  • tendency to be “lazy”

This beautiful young woman lost her life to a congenital heart disease called myocardial bridging—a defect where an artery, instead of going where it’s supposed to in the heart actually goes through the heart muscle.

Her story was written by a close friend, who wishes that the American Heart Association would do a better job of raising awareness about Congenital Heart Defects, and remind people that often, genetics is the only cause.

Do you know that there are tests, treatments, and surgical repair for congenital heart defects?

Most people don’t.  If you are far too young for heart disease, but experience symptoms like the ones listed above…..please complain loudly to your health care provider.

Be heard and live!

If you are listening to the American Heart Association, be aware that they promote profitable Cholesterol Lowering Drugs without warning us of the dangers.
