Honestly, is there a solution for heart failure?
If there were a solution would the world be facing an epidemic of heart failure?
Surely if people could avoid this devastating disease, they would, right?
The problem is that heart failure is not diagnosed until after your weak heart has enlarged in an attempt to meet your needs. Unfortunately, that is very late in the disease process.
I used to think that you can’t undo the enlarging of your heart. However, I have had the pleasure of meeting half a dozen people over the past couple years, who have done exactly that.
UPDATE December 20, 2012
Many Life Breath Clubbers have healed from a devastating heart failure diagnosis! They are getting back to work, enjoying their lives more and even getting off of the heart transplant list!
Until the proverbial “shit hits the fan”, most people live in denial.
You may not even notice symptoms that might alert your doctor to the impending doom.
However, even if you tell your doctor about your symptoms there may be no alarm sounded until it is too late.
Hey, let’s face it, if your doctor can’t drug it or surgically repair it, odds are, he or she can’t help you.
Unfortunately, he can run a bunch of tests and give you a clean bill of health to dismiss your concerns when you should be making changes!
If you are eating lots of sugar and plenty of processed foods, and rarely get off the sofa; that comforting bit of information could be your death sentence.
You may have NO warning of impending heart failure before your health is lost!
Even if your health care provider has told you that your heart “is fine”, you can abruptly lose your quality of life as well as YEARS worth of your expected income!
YOU SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT HEART FAILURE IF:
- You hear a “rattling” sound when you breathe.
- You have a persistent cough that is usually dry or produces clear mucus.
- You have had recurring pneumonia several times in the past year.
- You retain water, and can’t see your ankle bone.
- You feel “puffy” every morning, or at the end of the day.
- Your oxygen level is below 92%. (It may appear higher when you are sitting comfortably.)
- You suffer from extreme fatigue.
- You have chest pain, numbness or tingling in face, feet or hands, or any unusual “heavy or spongy” feeling in your chest.
- You are forgetful, or have trouble concentrating.
- You can’t catch your breath if you lie down in bed.
If you have 2 or more of any of the symptoms above you have reason to be concerned.
What should you do about heart failure concern?
If you do nothing else USE OXYGEN!
Even if you are convinced that you “don’t need oxygen” you will benefit from using supplemental oxygen with sleeping and activity!
Get your hands on a supplemental oxygen source and use it! Your heart will thank you!
Your insurance company will pay for your unit if your doctor records your blood oxygen level per oximetry at 88% or lower.
Your doctor can still prescribe oxygen if your level is above 88% but your insurance will not pay for it.
You can also buy and oxygen generator, which is similar to an oxygen concentrator, without a prescription.
If you need a reliable supplier Heart Failure Solutions recommends “The Breathing Guy” ->
Create stability and then seek your healing!
Supplemental oxygen is an easy button to nurture yourself, but it isn’t an easy quick fix.
Once you get your legs under you with supplemental oxygen, you need to actively seek your healing.

hi,
I am happy to have found your blog. just read a rather sobering article on coronary artery disease, which I recently was diagnosed with, and had three stents put in through catheterization angioplasty methodology, which opened three of my 90% blocked arteries. I’m only 60 and I just had this operation on April 3rd, 2009. Went back to work after one week, and started taking all the meds including statins, blood thinner, blood pressure med, and aspirin daily.
I have side affects, and don’t like what I read about some of what these meds can do to you, like statins, I was told by a nutritionist today, causes brain shrinkage in the frontal cortex, and I am already showing some strange typos occurring more frequently than ever before starting these meds.
I have had a follow up thallium nuclear treadmill test but haven’t heard results yet, and will call again tomorrow to see if I can hear what the pictures showed. I also feel muscle weakness, and memory loss more than ever before. The other day, my foot actually dragged for a step. This happens every once in a while.
My family history on both parents side is riddled with early cardiac arrests, including father 56, his brother 43, after returning home from cardiac surgery to get strong enough for more cardiac surgery needed, Mom started in her 60s with stents, like me and went through multiple bypass surgeries, and a pacemaker, and several strokes debilitating her gradually over time until she died at 81 after a morphine shot the nurse gave her and she was not complaining of any pain. I think they just kill them to get the bed available after a while.
I am reading every book I can find about the new lifestyle changes I need to make and yet, I hope I have the ability to meditate, and cook new ways, and exercise again without being in fear of dropping dead, so it is going to be challenging.
I did drop 19 lbs since my surgery as I had put on some weight. I also will confess that I had two months of severe chest pain, in denial that it could be anything more than stress symptoms, before being admitted to the emergency room when my cardiologist, who it took two weeks to get an appt with, even with an abnormal EKG sent to him, re-administered the EKG, and took my blood pressure, and then whisked me literally via a wheel chair to the hospital for an angiogram the next morning. Three and a half hrs later, wide awake the whole time and not even groggy, (I think my guy was not giving me enough sedative), I emerged with renewed energy and thought my problems were healed. only to realize I have a serious life threatening condition. And my Aunt who was given the treadmill test when she complained of indigestion and chest pain like heartburn dropped dead on the machine, at 69, well, it just doesn’t look to bright for me in the future. but I am giving the life force in me all of my energy. need to change careers as I am in a very stressful job. So there is that going on too. and have been single with no family left, for ten years.
I want to teach preventative medicine to people as I did not realize I was doing so much damage to my heart by being such a party girl in my younger years, and my stress type A personality has led me to a successful career in sales, but not worth this disease and shortened life expectancy. I am not
wanting any more heart surgeries to keep me alive. I want to reverse this condition.
I am working with a counselor but would love to know a good alternative medicine treatment center for this disease in the Bay Area, as I think these heart drugs have some serious side effects and compromise our aging well, with all of our faculties.
And I love to read and need my wits about me to entertain this mind of mine.
I will read more of your blogs.
Thanks LIN
