Why Is Physical Fitness So Important? Step 2, Know Your Limits!

why is exercise so important

2010 has begun!  In a hurry to get in shape?

You’ve already made your first mistake.

If 2009 wasn’t an active year, your pace should be slow and steady in 2010.  Consistency is the way to achieve ALL your fitness goals.

Pushing yourself might just be your undoing.  Do you know that the first sign of heart disease is often a heart attack?

So, what is your motivation for wanting to get in better shape?

Do you have major health concerns, a family history of heart disease, or do you just want to look better this year?

Your motive for getting in shape might drive you, that’s not a bad thing.  Just don’t make immediate results be the measure of your success.   Whether you’re hoping to look better, feel better or both, the secret is to commit to being active for the rest of your life.

Why Is Physical Fitness So Important?”

If you don’t move it you WILL lose it!

Sedentary Death Syndrome, WILL kill you prematurely!

A few years back, a team of doctors renamed what had formerly been known as “Inactivity Related Disease” to get more attention on the important issue of sedentary lifestyle.

They wanted the public to know that no matter what kills you, you will die sooner from sedentary lifestyle.

Hey, being active is FUN, and it feels really good anyway!  What’s the big deal?

“Exercise is fun?”

Is that what you are thinking?

I’m sure most people don’t think of “exercise” as “fun”, but IF activity were FUN, what would that look like?

Hey!  “What does active fun look like?” is a GREAT question to ask yourself frequently!

Banish the word “exercise” from your vocabulary, at least for the purpose of goal setting.  Being active really is fun, and if you can shift your paradigm to embrace that, you are much more likely to be successful at making daily activity a lasting part of your life.

Just being active every single day IS success.  It is measurable!

Keep a journal of how you feel and the thoughts you are thinking each day.

You will notice that your thoughts will be lighter and more positive as you get moving!  Let all the “stiff and rigid” melt away.

When you are inflexible and rigid in your life you stifle your creativity and harm your relationships with others.

That isn’t hard to see.

What you may not be noticing is that the stiffness in your body is harming your creativity and your relationship with yourself.

Get moving and heat yourself up and you will begin to feel the melting process begin.  Don’t think of it as SWEAT!  Think of it as the “stiff and rigid” melting away!

The goal is to get more graceful and fluid so that your movement is easier.

You’ll have a lot more success if you make this process fun!

Why Is Physical Fitness So Important?”

Activity and self care nurture self love.

“Exercise is loving myself?”

Yes it is!  And I told you to banish that word! When you love yourself you can change your world!

I challenge you to give yourself the gift of activity!  Let’s change the world one person at a time ….

…… starting with YOU!

With a little patience, you will watch a brand-new-better YOU unfold in 2010!

Knowing your limits is the secret to eliminating them.

How does a year without limits sound?

Get busy getting fit, and get out of your box!

Get fit, and the SKY is the limit in 2010!

The way to keep your New Year’s Resolution is to join forces with others!
